20th anniversary celebration

On Friday, March 23, 2007, the volunteer staff gathered at Cafe 349 for lunch to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Pontiac Archives at the Campbell’s Bay Protestant School, on March 23, 1987.

December 1990 to November 2001 the Pontiac Archives was housed at Community Service Centre at Campbell’s Bay. Then to Shawville, Qc, to the Paul’s Insurance Building until the new Shawville/Clarendon Library Archives building opened April 2004.

April 28, 2007 “open to the public” 20th anniversary celebration was held at the Pontiac Archives Office. Featured were the late Elsie Gibbons, first lady Mayor of Portage du Fort and first lady Warden of Pontiac County; Rosaleen Dickson, former editor and publisher of The Equity and Albert Wright with his photographs of Portage du Fort Heritage.
